Thousands of migrants have been returned to Mexican cities under Title 42, a health policy implemented in March 2020 due to covid-19. After the sudden arrival of thousands in Ciudad Juárez, a shelter for trans migrant women opened its doors to all migrants who needed a place to take refuge.
